| Golf Classic:
We would like to thank the golfers,
sponsors and donors for helping up to have a successful 4th Annual LNMSBC
Golf outing. We raised over $1200 to benefit the program. Many thanks,
Debbie Koehl, Karen McNamara and Rachel Renner, Golf Outing Co-Chairs.

Golf Classic:

All proceeds from this golf outing help to support the program through
purchasing of equipment, assist with training programs and general support
of the LN Men’s Soccer program. The golf outing is an activity of the
Lawrence North Men’s Soccer Booster Club (LNMSBC).

Fundraising - Carwash:
- 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday August 16th
The car washes are two of the primary annual fundraising events for
the LN Men’s Soccer teams. Proceeds go directly towards supporting the
team’s needs in terms of equipment, field maintenance, and general activities.
All players trying out for the teams are required to participate. 2
hour shifts minimum, but additional time encouraged. These events are
a great time, lots of fun, and helps to raise a substantial amount for
the team. We also encourage and need parents to attend and assist in
supervision. Please help us to get the word out to neighbors, family,
friends and classmates.
Contact me as soon as possible regarding when
the players can work at the second carwash,
coming up on Saturday, August 16th.

July Training
- 7:00 to 8:30 PM Monday through Thursday
Beginning July 7th, training times will be 7:00 to 8:30 PM Monday
through Thursday at Lawrence Park (NYSL field number 21, far northeast
corner of the NYSL fields).
Please come early to pick up summer training shirts, drop off physicals,
and verify player database.
Players are to wear a white shirt, dark shorts (black/blue) and white
socks with Shin guards.
Bring water bottles.
Reminder: IMPACT test needs to be completed (contact Sherry to schedule)
and Physicals must be turned in before you can start practice.

IMPACT Test
- June 26th at 5:30 PM in LN Media Center
IMPACT test is a concussion management tool. It tests athletes' reaction
time, concentration, memory, etc. They take the test prior to the season
and if they happen to have a head injury we can use the test to determine
their return to play. They take the test at LN and we can print out
the results of the post-test (after an injury) to take to a doctor if
necessary. This test is being funded by St. Vincent Sports Medicine
and will be REQUIRED for all contact sport athletes. All athletes must
take the test prior to any contact activity. For more information: www.impacttest.com.

Call Out Meetings
- May 5th at 8:00 Call Out meeting is for returning players and
new students at LN 10th 11, & 12th grades
- May 7th at 8:00 call out meeting is for incoming freshmen
Both meetings will be held in the Turntable Room 195 at 8:00 PM

LN Physicals
Message from Trainer Sherry Manzelli
Hello!
Just wanted to make sure that you know that we are having pre-participation
physicals on Thursday May 1st from 7-9pm in the LN fieldhouse. The cost
is $20 and checks can be made out to LN athletics. The kids need to
bring in the form (can be downloaded at
IHSAA.org) with the entire 1st page filled out and signed by the
parent (the last page of the physical form must also be signed). The
parents do not have to be present at the physical if the form is signed.
This physical will be good for the entire 2008/2009 school year. As
you know, they must have a current physical on file to participate in
any way with the team, this includes any summer activities. Please pass
this information on to your team parents, etc. Also, we are looking
for adult volunteers to help us out that night with check-ins, height/weight,
etc. If any parents or any coaches want to help out, please have them
contact me. If you have any questions, please give me a call. Also,
let them know that any school age kid that needs an athletic physical
may attend, including middle schoolers, etc. If they can't make it to
that night, there will be other nights at different schools that are
also open to them.
